Common FAQ

FAQ Index

Every year my Tax Notice is higher than the estimate shown on the Valuation Notice. Why do the amounts differ?

The most common reason the Tax Notice is higher than the Valuation Notice is the additional charge for garbage collection. Because garbage collection is a fee for service, rather than a tax, it is not shown on your Valuation Notice.

Other fees and attachments may also appear on your Tax Notice when a taxing entity "certifies" delinquent charges to the County Treasurer.
