Tax Relief FAQ

FAQ Index

What is a settlement, and how do I qualify for one?

A settlement is an agreement between a taxpayer and the County to settle taxes, penalty, interest and fees for less than the amount due, provided the settlement amount is paid by an agreed upon date( usually within 30 days of the settlement agreement being approved by the Council).

You must meet the eligibility requirements for tax relief for the years in question, complete and file an application for settlement with the County, and  pay the adjusted balance owing by the agreed upon date.
