Credit Card Payment Option
Property taxes can be paid online by credit card.
The service provider charges a convenience fee for this option
- To pay online, you must use the unique PIN number appearing on the face of the Tax Notice.
- Taxpayers paying online receive immediate acknowledgment of the payment(s) made.
- The online payment must be initiated and finalized before midnight(MST), November 30 to avoid penalties.
Note: Acknowledgment confirms receipt of your information and intent to pay property taxes. Be sure to keep a copy of the acknowledgement for your records.
To comply with the tax code and merchant agreements for acceptance of credit cards, the Salt Lake County Treasurer uses Official Payments Corporation (OPC) to process credit card payments for VISA, American Express, DISCOVER and Master Card.
Official Payments Corporation charges a 2.50% CONVENIENCE FEE for processing the payments. To pay by credit card visit our online payment web site or pay through OPC's telephone interactive voice responce ("IVR") system by dialing 1-800-272-9829 using Option 3 and entering Jurisdiction Code 5407.
In order to comply with terms of the merchant agreements, the Salt Lake County Treasurer cannot accept credit card charges over the counter.
To ensure a secure transmission of your account information, Salt Lake County provides 128-bit SSL encryption key in association with Verisign. As a result Salt Lake County requires that your browser is configured for 128-bit encryption.
